International and Regional team members visited locations in Thailand (Bangkok) and Cambodia (Phnom Penh and Battambang).
The trip had the following objectives:
- Convene a regional training and workshop on Gender, Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) and NbS
- Launch the RUCaS GEDSI Technical Advisory Group (TAG) and obtain insights and feedback on the draft GEDSI and NbS guideline
- Advance relationships with GEDSI stakeholders and obtain their insights on GEDSI aspects of RUCaS and case study/ demonstration sites, and identify opportunities to link to other projects
- Gather stories about people’s experiences and how applying NbS can improve outcomes
- Convene Partnership managers, helping build capacity on GEDSI, and planning for RUCaS 2 and the regional conference
- Advance understanding of site and scope for Cambodian work in Phnom Penh with GRET in Andoung communities
- Confirm the pilot site in Battambang, request a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Battambang’s Provincial Administration and Monash University, and invite the Battambang Governor to the RUCaS conference, to be held in March 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand
- Engage DFAT from Cambodia post, and potentially from MAP2 GEDSI team.
